Itty Bitty MusiC Makers

The goal of our Itty Bitty Music Makers program is to guide students ages 3-5 in developing basic singing, literacy, and creative movement skills. Each class is designed to be playful and enjoyable to children, while providing a carefully planned curriculum utilizing a variety of activities. Children are not taught formally about the specifics of music, but rather experience the expressive qualities of music through play and song. This class is taught by Mrs. Janelle Skoog-Shafer. One adult is required to attend with the child; this is not a child drop-off program. Our Itty Bitty Music Makers meet on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:30 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church in Bemis Park, and Thursdays from 6:00-6:30 pm at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church in South Omaha.

urban harmony

Formerly known as Preparatory Choir, the newly named Urban Harmony introduces children grades 1-3 to choral music while still incorporating aspects of play and exploration. Each rehearsal begins with vocal warm-ups where students learn proper choral breathing and posture and grow their basic musical literacy skills. The remainder of the time is devoted to immersing students in age-appropriate choral literature. Engaging in musical games, folk dancing, and the playing of percussion instruments rounds out the experience. Urban Harmony rehearses on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church in Bemis Park, and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30 pm at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church in South Omaha.

Voices for Unity rehearses on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church in Bemis Park, and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30 pm at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church in South Omaha.
